September is Library Card Sign Up Month

Each September brings with it Library Card Sign Up Month. Thousands in the Kendallville and Rome City area already have a Kendallville and Limberlost Public library card, but the library’s goal is 100% of the population. And why not? There is no cost to apply for a library card and check out any of the books, audio books, DVDs, eBooks, magazines, and more available to patrons.

Along with the great benefits associated with the Evergreen Indiana consortium, like access to six million items from all over the state of Indiana, the library is offering some incentives this month to encourage new users.
Each resident of the Kendallville and Limberlost Public Library’s taxing district (Wayne and Orange Townships, as well as the city limits of Kendallville and Rome City) who does not already have a library card but applies for one in September will be entered in a drawing for a Wal-Mart Gift Card. One gift card will be given away at each library.

It’s easy to apply! Adults just need a photo ID that shows their current address. Youth under age 18 will need to have a parent or guardian with them that has a photo ID showing their current address. It’s that easy! If someone doesn’t have the correct identification, they can call the Kendallville Public Library at 260-343-2010 or the Limberlost Public Library at 260-854-2775. The staff will be happy to walk them through the other acceptable forms of ID. You can also email us at info@kendallvillelibrary.org.
