In October, children up through grade 5 are invited to submit a design for the Kendallville Public Library Children's Department 2018 mascot.

The winning mascot will be turned into a stuffed animal! The child who designed it will get a stuffed animal for themselves, plus one will be kept at the Kendallville Public Library, while another lives at its Limberlost Branch in Rome City.

The guidelines for this year's contest are as follows:
• Open to kids in 5th grade and under.
• Entries accepted anytime in October.
• Entries must be original, not based on existing characters.
• Entries must be fully colored in and drawn on the official entry form.
• Designs must be drawn by the child with no help from parents.
• Library staff members will narrow down the entries to the top three.
• The winner will be determined by the number of votes received on Facebook.

Entry forms are available at the Kendallville Public Library, its Limberlost Branch, or download one here.
