Russell Frehse's Picture and Biography Displayed in Genealogy Room

The life of local historian Russell Frehse is now a part of the Russell Frehse Genealogy Room at the Kendallville Public Library. Frehse’s collection of history was transferred to the Kendallville Public Library last summer from the Kendallville Heritage Association. While much of the material still needs to be processed, Frehse’s picture and biography now grace the walls of the room named in his honor.

Other additions to the Russell Frehse Genealogy Room include the hanging of an 1880 picture of the City of Kendallville, a Geological Survey Map of Bixler Lake, a copy of the Declaration of Independence, an annual McCray family picnic photo from July 31, 1926, a McCray Refrigerator Company photo dated May 1916 and a picture of the home north of Kendallville on S.R. 3 that once housed a stop on the Underground Railroad.
