Honey Tasting
Wednesday, July 9 - 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. - Kendallville
Wednesday, July 9 - 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. - Limberlost
What's all natural, sweet and comes in a variety of flavors? Honey! Everyone will have the opportunity to try a variety of honey flavors at the Honey Tasting display. In addition to tasting the honey, view a short film that gives us a closer look at the life of a bee and how the sweet treat goes from the hive to our table.

Introduction to Word
Wednesday, July 9 - 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Kendallville
Word processing is the topic of this class. This introductory lesson to the popular Microsoft program includes typing a letter, formatting a document, editing and printing. The fee is $15.00 and includes a book. Paid registration is required by June 30. Registration is limited to 12.

Accomplishment Party
Friday, July 11 - 1:00 p.m. - Kendallville
Friday, July 11 - 3:00 p.m. - Limberlost
Have you completed weeks five and six of the Summer Reading Program? If you have, you're invited to an Accomplishment Party.  The Bug Out Party will include balloons, insects, face painting, snacks and more. Participants will be entered in a prize drawing and will also recieve a great deal from the Fort Wayne Wizards - a free ticket, plus a free hot dog and soda!

Afternoon Matinee for Adults
Tuesday, July 15 - 2:00 p.m. - Limberlost
Sit back and relax during this Afternoon Matinee for Adults at the library. The featured movie, Becoming Jane, gives us a look at author Jane Austen's personal life and passionate romance, which inspired many of her famous novels. Registration is requested beginning June 23. Register by email.

Introduction to Excel
Wednesday, July 16 - 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Kendallville
Geared toward novice users, the Introduction to Excel class teaches the basics of this Microsoft spreadsheet program. Learn how to enter data, format the data, create formulas and print.  The fee is $15.00 and includes a book. Paid registration is required by July 7. Registration is limited to 12.

Beading Class
Monday, July 21 - 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Kendallville
Create some beautiful projects during this Beading Class. Participants will make a beaded key ring, a beaded bookmark and a beaded zipper pull. The cost of the class is $10.00 and includes all supplies. Paid registration is required by Friday, July 18. The class requires a minimum of four participants and has a maximum limit of 9.

Hiking Stories with Nathan Martin
Tuesday, July 22 - Kendallville
10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Hear Hiking Stories with Nathan Martin at this program for all ages. Nathan is an avid hiker who has taken trips all across the country. This program is free, but registration is requested for either session by Monday, July 21. Sign up by calling 343-2010 or

Introduction to Publisher

Create your own business cards, flyers, calendars, invitiations, newsletters and more with skills learned in the Introduction to Publisher class. For a $15 fee, participants will receive a book and individualized instruction on how to use this Microsoft program to format publications and include text and pictures. Paid registration is required by July 14. Registration is limited to 12.

Learn the way to dress up your presentations through the library's Introduction to PowerPoint class. Participants should have taken the library's Introduction to Word or Introduction to Publisher class, or have equivalent experience. The class fee is $15 and includes a workbook. Paid registration is required by July 21. Registration is limited to 12.

Food and Fiction
Thursday, July 31 - 1:00 p.m. - Kendallville
It's easy to look for a new author or a new genre to try. Just come to the Food and Fiction Book Discussion Group, held on the fourth Thursday of each month through October. Unlike most discussion groups, you will not have one particular book you're assigned to read. Instead, the group will focus on one particular genre each month: mysteries, thrillers, science-fiction, romance, audio books and general fiction. You will be given the opportunity to share your favorite book in the chosen genre. As an added bonus, we encourage everyone to bring a beverage and a snack or brown bag lunch. Intermediate Word
Wednesday, August 6 - 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Kendallville
For the more experienced Word user, this class covers more in-depth formatting techniques and how to create and use a template. The class fee is $15 and includes a workbook. Paid registration is required by July 28. Registration is limited to 12.

Intermediate Excel
Wednesday, August 13 - 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Kendallville
For the more experienced Excel user, this class covers how to create formulas to make calculations quicker and easier, how to use various functions and how to create charts and graphs. The class fee is $15 and includes a workbook. Paid registration is required by August 4. Registration is limited to 12.

Advanced Excel
Wednesday, August 20 - 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Kendallville
The experienced Excel user, looking for more information on how to use Excel as a database, would benefit from this class. Topics covered include single and multiple level sorting, filtering data and mail merge. The class fee is $15 and includes a workbook. Paid registration is required by August 11. Registration is limited to 12.

This comprehensive computer training program gets a novice comfortable with using their computer. The eight-session class is slow paced with lots of review and exercises. Topics include Windows, programs, file management, word processing and the Internet. The class fee is $25 per person and includes a workbook. Paid registration is required by August 25. Digital Photo Editing Basics
Wednesday, October 22 - 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. - Kendallville
Digital cameras are great for having quick access to all your photos. Plus, they make it easy and fun to edit those photos. In this class, participants will learn how to use Picasa, a free download from Google, to organize and enhance digital photos. The class includes ways to change the look of photos by adding special effects and color correction, demonstrates how to use Picasa to organize photos and shows how to have photos printed by uploading them to a web source. Participants should have a digital camera and be familiar with taking photos as well as loading those photos onto their computer. The class fee is $15 and includes a workbook. Paid registration is required by October 20. Registration is limited to 12.
