Weather a Recession...Rediscover Your Library

Alan Greenspan is one of the latest to weigh in about the possibility of our nation going into a recession. The former Federal Reserve Chairman says the economy is “clearly on the edge” of a recession and there’s a 50/50 chance that it will fall head-first into one.

Across the nation, experts are offering tips to help people weather a potential recession...one such tip is to Rediscover Your Library!

A national study by the University of Illinois Research Center studied library use over five years and found that circulation increased significantly back in 2001 when the National Bureau of Economic Research pegged the beginning of a recession.

And why not? Using the library is a great way to cut down on expenses when the economy is suffering. The Kendallville and Limberlost Public Libraries have tens of thousands of books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, VHS tapes, audio books, CD-Roms and more, free for anyone with a library card to check out. There are also dozens of computers available for use within the library.

If the Kendallville and Limberlost Public Libraries don’t have a book you’re looking for, chances are the librarians can find it for you through Indiana’s free Inter-Library Loan Service.

Save money on entertainment, too, by attending the library’s free programming on a variety of topics for children, teens and adults.

Stop in and visit your library today. You’ve got nothing to lose...especially your hard-earned money.
