Staff Spotlight Shines on Linda Leighty

Linda Leighty, who’s been branch manager of the Limberlost Public Library for 13 years, has two families.

She’s been married to Don Leighty for more than 36 years now, and is awaiting the birth of her second grandchild.

But there’s another group she considers family, too.

“I love how so many people think of the LPL staff as family and how they want to share their lives with us,” said Linda.

When she has time, Linda likes to work outside at the Leighty family farm, caring for the flowers and the lawn. When the weather isn’t as favorable, she stays inside catching up on the latest mysteries and children’s books.

Reading to children, including her two-year-old grandson, Zackery, is one of her favorite things to do. She does it often at work, holding storytimes at Rome City School and Wolcott Mills Elementary.

“I love to see their (the children’s) excitement  and interest in the story,” said Linda.

Stop by the Limberlost Public Library in Rome City to say “hi” to Linda, and thank her for the 13 years she has dedicated to her patrons.
