Staff Spotlight Shines on Reagan Smith
When he does get a chance to go home, it’s to his wife of 32 years, Vickie. They have two grown sons, Kyle and Korey. All four of them were born on the land that now holds the Kendallville Public Library...back when it held the McCray Hospital.
Reagan came to the library after having been an accountant, then a teacher. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in physics, math and physical education and also a Masters in business administration. He uses many of those skills as he tutors students at the library and The Wreck.
“I love working with teens,” said Reagan. “It keeps me young...at heart, anyways.”
That’s evident through his volunteerism at The Wreck. He’s been with the teen center since it began nine years ago.
In addition to working with the teens, he keeps all the computers running there, too.
Despite the amount of time he spends here, he says he enjoys coming to work surrounded by the beauty of the lake.
The staff appreciates his good nature when we’ve got a computer problem we can’t seem to fix on our own, and are lucky to have such a dedicated Information Technology Manager.
