Renovation work at the library continues to move forward, and we’re happy to share several updates with our community.
The youth area is now back open. The play area is completed with a fun water-themed design, featuring wave-like couches and a cozy reading area. This space was designed to complement an upcoming addition—a brand-new freshwater fish tank. We look forward to introducing our new aquatic residents soon.
Work is now shifting to the teen area, which will receive a full makeover. Plans include a sensory room, a study room, updated furniture, and more spaces for reading, studying, and working.
Circulation is being refreshed with an updated look to better serve patrons and improve the flow of traffic through the building.
You may have noticed our new Library of Things room as well. This expanded space gives us plenty of room to continue growing this popular collection.
Our restrooms are also being updated. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this work continues.

The last time we conducted our READ (Reading, Education and Discovery) fundraising campaign was back in 2020. Then, we began the letter to supporters with “The Kendallville Public Library is engaging with the community like never before.” Little did we know then how even more true that would be now!
Every day we strive to bring new initiatives to our community to improve the quality of life for those around us. We’re partnering with local organizations to deepen the impact we have on the people we serve. We live here, we work here, and we are doing all we can to help the area thrive.

In addition to passes to Science Central and the Botanical Conservatory, KPL has added a Family Pass to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn. This pass is good for up to 2 adults at the same address and their dependent children.
In the museum, most of the cars are drivable and many are in carefully-restored condition. The museum has a state-of-the-art Collections Conservation Center that was completed in 2015 to support the care and preservation of this priceless collection.
Passes are first-come, first-serve.
The Kendallville Public Library now has Notary Service available.
A Notary Public is an individual commissioned by the State of Indiana to serve as an impartial witness and fraud deterrent for legally significant documents such as property deeds, marriage licenses and adoption papers. Notaries defer fraud by verifying individuals’ identity and ensuring that all parties understand the contents of the documents they sign.

You can start to learn up to 30 different languages - for free - through INSPIRE, Indiana's Virtual Library. The Indiana State Library has teamed up with Rosetta Stone to offer the basic course in the language of your choice. You can access INSPIRE through KPL's website at www.kendallvillelibrary.org. Click on INSPIRE under Online Resources.
